Laura Rotolo

Emory University

Biography

Laura is the Lead formulation chemist at the Department of Chemistry at Emory University in the Liotta Research Group. She has a master’s in pharmacy and a PhD in Organic Chemistry.

Laura learned biological and biomedical engineering skills during her first postdoc at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she became the lead formulation chemist of many projects, including a 30M$ DARPA PREPARE funded ThIRM grant to deliver mRNA to lungs. Her efforts let her lab secure funds from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to develop flu vaccines. During her second postdoc at Emory University, she is developing a new platform of polymeric nano-formulations to target multiple organs, focusing on the lungs and skin.
